Be in the Know

Notifications about campus closures, delays and emergencies are primarily made through the college’s automated notification system. We encourage you to sign up for weather and emergency notifications.

In the event of a weather delay or closure, a message will be sent via text or phone to the contact information you have provided. You will also receive an email to your LCCC email address.

When a snow delay or closure occurs, LCCC makes every effort to send the notification by 6 a.m. or as soon as possible, depending on the timing of the weather circumstances. If possible, the decision is made the night before, by 9 p.m. For evening classes, the decision will be made by 4 p.m.

In addition to weather and emergency notifications, you can also find out about an LCCC delay or closure through the following methods, which are listed in order of reliability:

  • Visit www.tavacquaviva.net, and see a notification on the home page
  • Log on to the LCCC student or staff portal
  • Check the LCCC Facebook page and Twitter
  • Check your LCCC email account
  • Check web sites of local TV stations (WFMZ, WNEP, BRC TV 13)

It is a good idea to check several sources, because occasionally texts and emails are delayed, depending on individual plans or technological issues.

Bottom line: you make the final decision on whether or not to travel in inclement weather. Be cautious on the road and always use your own best judgment.
